MOUNT CARMEL -- One day after Dr. Raymond Kraynak's office in Mount Carmel was raided by the United States Attorney's office, the general practitioner was seeing patients.

People who live in Mount Carmel say they saw federal agents carry paperwork out of the doctor's office on East Fifth Street, and out of Community Pharmacy around the block.

"I'm surprised.  He's always treated me very well," said one patient. "I think he's a good doctor.  When I was broke and didn't have insurance, he took me as a patient, and when I needed help to get well it was no problem.  He gave me what I needed to be well."

All of the people we spoke with are concerned about why the doctor's office was raided.  The Mount Carmel Police Department deferred all questions to the United States Attorney's office, who gave us no comment.

"As a matter of fact, I just came from the doctor now.  I was shocked to see it in there," said Dorothy Gross of Locustdale.

She was surprised when she heard about the raid.

"I think he's for the people, tries to help everybody out.  When you went to him with a problem, he always fixed you up."

When Newswatch 16 tried to talk to Dr. Kraynak at his office, his receptionist told us he had no comment.
