LEWISBURG -- Chelsea Lorson, 25, of Milton was at the Union County Courthouse for a preliminary hearing on child sex crimes. Lorson gave up her right to that hearing and her attorney says she is working out a plea deal.

Chelsea Lorson was quiet as she rushed into district court in Lewisburg. Lorson was fired from her job at the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit last week. The firing came about a month after police charged her with several child sex crimes.

Lorson was assigned to Lewisburg Area High School as a teacher's aide in January of this year. She is accused of having sex with two students over a 15-day period. According to court documents, Lorson told a witness she had two sexually transmitted diseases but still had sexual contact with the students.

Lorson was only inside the courtroom today for about two minutes. Her attorney says the charges against her speak for themselves, so she decided to give up her right to a preliminary hearing. Lorson and her attorney are negotiating a plea deal with the district attorney.

"Miss Lorson has decided that she wants to address her issues in an appropriate manner, so there was no necessity to bring the young men in here for something that really didn't require that," Attorney Gregory Stuck said.

Chelsea Lorson's Attorney also says there is more to this story than meets the eye, but he is not allowed to discuss that. Chelsea Lorson remains free on bail.
