SCRANTON -- Workers at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel were gearing up to welcome the thousands of party-goers who will flock to Scranton for the big Saint Patrick's party.

While the parade kicks off at 11:45 Saturday morning, the celebration will have started here at the hotel at 9 a.m.

This year, the Radisson has added some new features to its outdoor patio.

“We have the largest bar in Scranton now, it's a 75-foot bar out here, we have a fresh grill going all day and things are just staged throughout the area so that it spreads out a little bit better,” said Michael Kearney, the Radisson’s hospitality manager.

Across the street at Kildare's, the Irish restaurant knows how to throw a Saint Pat's party. They're offering a VIP Gold Pass for $75.

“It's no cover all day. You get an open bar, select drinks, a free buffet all day long, free t-shirt and heated tent, in case it's cold but we don't have to worry about that right,” said manager Chris Collins. “And you get to skip the line all day, who wants to wait in line?”

Marywood University graduate Bruce Gowe has his VIP Gold Pass and is staying at the Radisson.

Gowe says he and his college buddies meet up every year for Scranton's Saint Pat's party.

“We're all from different areas so we come together, it's like our yearly anniversary, reunion,” said Gowe.

Before you head out to the party, stop by Taney's Costume Shop on South Washington Avenue.

Owner Jim O'Hora promises you'll be Irish when you walk out.

“We have everything you need, we have Irish hats of all kinds, top hats, derby’s,” said O’Hora. “We carrying the tiaras for the girls, there's shamrocks, we have the little binny-bobbers, anything you want.”
