Now is your chance to make a difference in the lives of kids and adults with disabilities served by Allied Services.   You can apply to be on WNEP-TV’s Ryan’s Run 7 team today and join Newswatch 16’s Ryan Leckey in the TCS New York City Marathon this Fall.

“Ryan’s Run” recently earned the silvery charity status by the New York Road Runners.  The status puts our campaign on the same level as internationally respected organizations like UNICEF.  The status also means our charity campaign now has 50 spots for runners in the big race compared to last year’s 35.

If you love to run 26.2 miles and want to be apart of an energetic charity campaign that’s all about changing lives, CLICK HERE TO APPLY .  There, you can read the requirements to join the team.

Also at that link, you can learn about other ways to support “WNEP’s Ryan’s Run” if you aren’t up for running a marathon.  You can donate $30.00 on the “Ryan’s Run” site and receive an official shirt when our campaign kicks off in August.

About “Ryan’s Run:”

The charity campaign is now marking its seventh year.  “Ryan’s Run” is focused on helping kids and adults with disabilities at Allied Services throughout Northeastern & Central Pennsylvania.

“Ryan’s Run” involves Newswatch 16’s morning man Ryan Leckey and dozens of other area athletes who will take a trek in the world famous 2016 TCS NYC Marathon on Sunday, November 6.   But before the 26.2 mile journey, Ryan and “Team Leckey” are raising as much money as possible for the cause to help people here at home through various events.

A Few Fun Facts:

  • To date, “Ryan’s Run” has raised more than $1.6 million to help kids and adults with disabilities throughout Northeastern & Central Pennsylvania.
  • The campaign has also received multiple honors. “Ryan’s Run” was named by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters as an “Outstanding Television Public Service Campaign.”
