RALPHO TOWNSHIP -- It's a sure sign spring is near for people in Northumberland County when Knoebels Amusement Resort hosts its annual job fair.

Job seekers filled the Elysburg Fire Company on Saturday to apply for summer openings.

Angel Diemidio from Catawissa has worked at the family-owned amusement park before.

"It's awesome! They employ a lot of people and they do a lot of good for people in the area and I think it's a positive thing," Angel Diemidio of Catawissa.

The park is celebrating 90 years of family fun this year.

Dozens of jobs are up for grabs and hundreds of people are expected to be hired for the upcoming season.

"We are looking to hire roughly 800 new employees in addition to welcoming back about 1200 returning employees," said Stacy Ososkie, Public Relations Director.

This year, a lot of the applicants are teenagers looking to land their first job. Some we spoke to think working at Knoebels is excellent job experience and look forward to the upcoming summer.

Jay Patrick from Kulpmont hopes to get hired for one of the food service positions.

"I really wanted a job mainly for the experience and definitely the money, and I thought it would be a good idea to get started early," said Jay Patrick of Kulpmont.

Most workers need to be 16 or older, but younger employees can work with proper paperwork.

Halle Cox, 14, from Elysburg, is one of those people.

"My brother worked here before and he told me it's a great place to learn new things for the future and it opens your eyes up for college and stuff like that, so I decided to give it a shot," said Cox.

Folks at Knoebels tell us there will be some updated attractions and other surprises this year for everyone to enjoy.

Knoebels plans to open for the season on April 30.
