It's time to break out the green! This weekend marks the launch of a lot of St. Patrick’s preparations and parades in our area. One of the first parades to step off is in Pittston.
It gets underway Saturday (3/5) at Noon. Newswatch 16's Ryan Leckey joined some of the organizers this morning to get a sneak peek of what to expect this year.
One element that's new before the parade starts Saturday in this part of Luzerne County is a fun 1 mile run/walk. A portion of the proceeds will help a Pittston church give back to folks in need. Sign up for the race or learn more at this link! A pub crawl is also scheduled for Friday night as part of the Pittston parade festivities. Stops include:
The Susquehanna Tavern 6 p.m. -7 p.m.
Tomato Bar & Bistro 7:15 p.m. -8:15 p.m.
Saints & Sinners Irish Pub 8:30 p.m. -9:30 p.m.
Cebula's Pizza & Bar 9:45 p.m. -10:45 p.m.
The Wyoming Valley Pipe & Drum Band will also be on hand at some of the stops.
