The first trailer is here for the all-female “Ghostbusters” — and it is definitely not your father’s “Ghostbusters.”

But that’s a total compliment, says Zap2It. The original is so good and so iconic that a straight-up remake — whether with men or women — would be terrible. It could not possibly live up to the original. But judging by the trailer, this version, starring Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig, is doing its own thing while still maintaining all the aspects fans love from the first movie.

While McCarthy and Wiig may be the bigger stars of the foursome, the two scene-stealers from the trailer are McKinnon as the Egon and Jones as the Zedmore of the group. They’re both very funny, which is no surprise, since they are killing it on “Saturday Night Live” week in and week out.

What is also a nice surprise is the special effects. They have obviously improved a lot in 30+ years, but the ghosts haven’t gotten so CGI as to lose the feel of the original.

It’s also nice to see that secretary Chris Hemsworthy is only seen briefly in the trailer. This is all about the ladies — who, speaking of which, director Paul Feig says all make him “cry with laughter.”

“When I was putting this together, I have list of people that make me laugh and I have one list of people that make me cry with laughter, and thought if I’m doing ‘Ghostbusters,’ I gotta pull the heavy guns, so these four women are just so funny. It’s really an honor,” Feig tells Ellen DeGeneres.

“Ghostbusters” hits theaters July 15.
