JACKSON TOWNSHIP — Imagine winning $3 million on a scratch-off ticket. That’s exactly what happened to a man in Saylorsburg when he stopped into a gas station off Route 715.

Lottery ticket sales just keep climbing at the Country Gas and Convenient near Tannersville, all because of a big $3 million scratch off winner.

“Since that day, everybody is so excited because they think that it is a lucky store and they’re coming to the store to buy more tickets. the sale is going up day by day,” said manager Sue Sharma.

Pennsylvania Lottery officials say the man from Saylorsburg bought a $30 Triple Million ticket and got very, very lucky.

“He’s a regular customer here. As a matter of fact, he was in today buying tickets,” said cashier Jennifer Taylor.

The winner was sitting right at a table in the place when he scratched off the lucky ticket and could hardly believe what he saw.

“He showed it to me. He’s like, ‘Look at what I got!’ And I looked and the numbers matched, and I went back and I checked it,” said Taylor.

It was a winner, the second big one in the store’s history.

Back in 2010, a $1 million scratch-off winner hit, too.

Now some customers hope the luck will rub off.

Carlos Gruber, 88, says he’d cry if he won $3 million and isn’t buying tickets.

“It’s kind of an incentive not to buy any tickets here anymore, because the odds are really against you, they got their share,” Gruber said.

The store gets a $10,000 bonus for selling the jackpot.

There is no word on what the man from Saylorsburg plans to do with his new-found fortune.
