MOOSIC -- Baseball season isn't here just yet, but it was a packed house at PNC Field in Moosic Saturday.

Hundreds of people showed up to raise awareness for child abuse and meet several Little League World Series stars, including pitching sensation Mo'ne Davis.

In a room packed with people, all eyes were on Little League World Series team members from the Taney Dragons. The team from Philadelphia, including pitching phenom Mo'ne Davis, signed autographs for visitors during a fundraiser at PNC Field.

"Well it's for the kids and we are still kids at this age and we just want to have as much fun as we can," Davis said.

Davis is the first girl in Little League World Series history to pitch a shutout.

She thinks it's important to get out into the community and talk to her peers, like at this event that raises awareness to child abuse.

"A lot of kids don't have as much confidence as they should have and once you tell them your journey to where you got to be today, they will know that they can do the same thing," Davis added.

The Stepanski family from Harding were thrilled to meet the all-stars. Nine-year-old Alyssa Stepanski looks up to Davis.

"She's a really good pitcher and she's really inspiring," Stepanski said.

Other fans who showed up to the event tell us it's nice to be a part of something that has a dual purpose.

"I think it's a good cause to raise awareness and meet the whole team," said Mariana Leo of Dunmore.

"Well one, it's fun to meet all of them, but also it's good to learn that not everyone is as fortunate as you are so you shouldn't take it for granted and be grateful for everything," Thomas Hart of Dunmore said.

Visitors were also entertained by a DJ, cheerleaders, and other activities.

Proceeds will go to the Children's Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
