WILKES-BARRE — A prison worker in Luzerne County is facing drug charges.
Louis Elmy, 51, was charged with distribution and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and also possessing a firearm while being a habitual drug user.
Elmy is a counselor at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
He served on the Wilkes-Barre Area School Board from 2012 to 2015 and ran for city council last year.
There is no word if the charges are connected to his work at the prison.
County officials said Elmy has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
