POLK TOWNSHIP -- Heavy rain, melting snow, and water runoff caused the foundation of a home to collapse in Monroe County.
About three feet of water filled the basement of the house on Streamside Street, near Kresgeville.
The owner tells us he was watching TV upstairs around noon when he heard cabinets in the basement fall to the ground.
"I kept hearing the sub pump going on and off. I said, 'Man, it's really pouring and everything.' And then all of a sudden, I just heard the noise. I went over to the basement steps and looked down. The whole wall was just collapsing in," Kostantino Roussos recalled.
The homeowner and his family are staying with friends until they hear from their insurance company.
