ELYSBURG -- People enjoyed coffee and conversation at a cafe in Northumberland County while employees made drinks.

Walking into Profile, the new coffee shop, you may think you're in a big city, but you're not. Profile is the first its kind in Elysburg.

Newswatch 16 spoke with manager Emily Arts who says Profile's owners were born and raised in Elysburg, but travel to coffee shops around the world.

"Basically what they wanted to do was bring something like that back home for us to be able to have here," Arts said.

Profile brings a unique flavor to Elysburg because the shop brews its own brand of coffee.

"We have recipes for roasters that are sent out and sent back to us. Our long-term goal is to have a roaster here just to have a couple of pounds a week, something special," Arts said.

People seem to enjoy it.

"The coffee was very good. I'm just a plain coffee person, no special things, so it's got to stand on its own," Donna Wood said.

"I like the atmosphere. The coffee is very good. They have baked goods, which are nice too," Jeanne DeSantis said.

Profile isn't just a coffee house. It has two community rooms upstairs which people can reserve for different events.

"We had someone have a baby shower here. We have a plan for a bridal shower. We have a bunch of groups come here. We have a knitting club come in," Arts said.

Arts says they hope for an even bigger "profile" when nearby Knoebels opens for the season.

"We hope to extend our hours at night so after the park closes you can come here and be with your family," Arts said.

Profile is located on Route 54 and is open seven days a week.
