PORT CARBON -- For folks in Schuylkill County, it was another round of snow for areas still covered by piles of it.
With flakes flying along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County, it didn't take long for things to get messy.
Vehicles skidded on the off-ramp to McAdoo at Exit 138.
In Saint Clair, a Good Samaritan blew away what snow had already built up by 4 p.m.
“I rather try to keep it clean for the bus. When they come off the bus, they don't fall and people coming off the pavement and the road, make it a lot easier,” she said.
The woman didn't want to give us her name, but she was happy to share how she felt about the weather.
“I hate it.”
In neighboring Port Carbon, people got a jump on shoveling.
With big piles of snow still lining the streets from the last storm, they want to stay ahead of the game.
“I really don't mind. I'm a mailman so I go out and do it no matter what,” said Mark Anchorstar.
“Ice. The ice is what scares me the most. Snow is easy. Ice you got no traction no matter what, four wheel drive, whatever, you can't control it on ice,” said Michael Kopinetz.
Now with rain and higher temperatures expected Tuesday, borough officials are concerned those snow piles could melt and cause flooding.
“Clearing out, to make sure all the drains, you can see here behind me, are open, that in the event it does start melting, we shouldn't have any major problems hopefully,” said Port Carbon Mayor Charles Joy.
Long-time resident Trudy Hennick is all too familiar with flooding problems in Port Carbon.
She, like many others here, has had her home flooded when Mill Creek overflowed its banks.
“My concern is, is it all going to come over and back into my cellar?” asked Hennick.
