TUNKHANNOCK -- A man was sentenced Wednesday morning for stabbing three people in Wyoming County.

A judge sentenced Shawn Conklin to 30 to 60 years in prison.

Conklin pulled out a pocket knife during a fight and stabbed three people, including his wife and a 17-year-old girl near Tunkhannock in April of 2015.

"I have to rebuild the family with my kids and they have no father anymore," said Karen Conklin, Shawn Conklin's wife. "And I have no husband but we're strong."

Karen Conklin was stabbed 14 times during the April night, and is ready for her family to move on.

"I have a lot of issues with my arms," she added. "I'll be lucky if I can use my left arm again. My right arm has a lot to be desired. But this didn't take me out. [I will] move on and won't have to come to court to see the monster that did this to me who I called my husband. The sky is the limit."

Donnie Seymore's teenager daughter, Shellie, was stabbed nine times and she ended up having four surgeries and more than a thousand stitches.

"Hopefully everything will get better," said Seymore. "The nights will get better where she can sleep instead of being awoken all night and continue school better."

As for why he did it, all Shawn Conklin would say in court was that he wasn't mentally stable and that he's on medication now.
