HARRISBURG -- It has been more than seven months since the deadline passed for a Pennsylvania state budget. Even without one for this year, the governor is already talking about how to spend money next year.

"The path we choose will have a profound impact on our commonwealth's future. My proposed budget provides a clear vision for a promising future for our state," Governor Tom Wolf said.

Francis Kennedy of Ashley thinks this year has been anything but promising for those waiting for state money.

"It's hurting a lot of people. It's hurting the elderly. It's hurting the schools. It's hurting a lot of organizations that need the money," Kennedy said.

Without a current budget in place, taxpayers say they're upset with the lack of progress at the State Capitol.

Taxpayers hope the same problems don't happen again next year.

"I'm wasting my money. That's basically it, I'm wasting my money because they are not doing the job for which they were hired. I would be fired if I didn't do my job," Alyse Roote of West Wyoming said.

At The Avenue Diner in Wyoming, Alyse and Robert Roote think the problem is more than just Governor Wolf.

"It just seems like people are not working together. It's time to stop bantering and start passing a budget," Robert Roote said.

The Roote family agrees that the governor is in a tough spot with a Republican house. At the same time, he was voted into office to do a job that isn't quite done yet.

"You have to start working together. Compromise is not a dirty word," Alyse Roote said.

Governor Wolf will announce his 2016-2017 state budget Tuesday morning.
