HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Supreme Court decided Friday not to restore Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s license to practice law.

Last month, the Scranton native claimed the court was wrong to suspend her license in September because Justice Michael Eakin helped make the ruling.

Eakin now admits he sent and received pornographic emails from his state office in Harrisburg.

But the state Supreme Court found that Kane was too late and should have objected to Eakin’s participation before the hearing in September.

The state Senate now plans to move forward with a vote to remove Kane as attorney general.

Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati (R-25) issued a statement:

“The Special Committee on Senate Address was prudent in their recommendation that the full Senate wait to take action until the Supreme Court reviewed Ms. Kane’s request. The timeliness of the Supreme Court’s action is certainly appreciated, and given the Court’s denial of her request we will now move forward with addressing this matter before the full Senate.

Scarnati said he will speak with majority and minority leaders in the Senate to determine when a vote to remove Kane will be held.
