TOWAMENSING TOWNSHIP — Game commission officials are looking for the person who shot and killed a bald eagle in Carbon County.

Wildlife Conservation Officers said the immature bald eagle was shot last month.

The eagle was found last weekend near Trachsville Hill Road and Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township, near Kresgeville.

Bald eagles are federally protected animals under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the NE Region of the Pennsylvania Game Commission at 570-675-1143.
