"You moved the ball well. I actually liked our ball movement. Our shot selection was good," said Ben O'Brien.

He is one of the young, energetic and skilled coaches in District II. This is Ben O'Brien's 8th year guiding the Dunmore Lady Bucks basketball program amassing 190 wins and only 32 losses in that time.

"We're fortunate that first of all we have a great feeder system. We have a great biddie program which our parents and this community are incredibly involved in organizing and running and putting a lot of hours into that program, and we are the beneficiaries of it. We get talented players year in and year out here and so far this season has been no different. I'm fortunate to coach really talented players who are playing really well," added Ben.

"We work hard. Coach O'Brien really prepares us for everything that we do. We push each other. It's not just Coach O'Brien pushing us but we work with each other and that's how everything comes along," said Erika Bistran.

There's a point to Ben's brainstorming off-season work on shooting, ball handling, and get better. In-season game to game strategy Ben might be the best.

"Yes he puts tons of hours into our preparation. He does a really great job. He is always on his computer trying to find new ways for us to be successful, and he really puts a lot of work into it and it shows," said Maddie Martin.

"Coach O'Brien he is a really great coach. He prepares us the best way he can to beat all the teams in the area. Ball handling, shooting everyday is just what you have to do to get yourself better," said Emily Sheehan.

We'll since taking over this program here at Dunmore-Coach O'Brien is averaging 24 wins a year. He's won numerous District Championships and made some great runs in the PIAA state playoffs, almost knocked off the #1 team Neumann Goretti last year and has an outside shot to reach 200 career wins this season.

"Skill development is very important and we change year to year based on what type of players we have. We try to focus on what that particular team or those particular players can do well, and this year we are fortunate to have a good shooting basketball team that can also handle the ball and also take the ball to the basket so they are multi-dimensional," again said Ben.
