Panthers..W...E...S...T...Meet the Pocono Mountain West cheerleaders. 36 of them on the high-school team. Recently that Panther pride captured another District XI title in the competitive spirit championships making it five in a row for Marcy Behr's bunch.

"We have our routine choreographed over the summer by a professional who comes in and the music is done by a professional as well, and from there on we just work all season long to try to get everything together. We made tons of changes since leagues, and into districts and now states. We're constantly trying to up the game make things a little bit more difficult you know spruce things up a little bit," said Marcy.

On this West team they have a total of 9 seniors...4 of them have been to the Hershey championships the last three years. They've made the finals twice. Their hoping for a third time in the finals this weekend.

"It's very exciting knowing that the four years that I've been on the team we've been able to qualify for states. I've definitely seen growth in the talent that we have. This is probably the most talented that I've ever been on here all four years, and we are definitely more family a lot this year than we've been in the past years," said Angelica Krisiak.

"Being part of this team is so much fun there is just so much activity and it's just a family honestly. I don't consider any of these girl's a teammate, or just a person in the hallway I definitely consider them a sister," said Nicole Robson.

The two other seniors for the Panthers help out in different ways. Devin Rogers is the tumbler for the team, and because of health reasons Molly O'Connor is now coaching.

"Definitely hitting all the stunts like to the top or more solid smiling through the whole routine-staying energized being loud," said Molly O'Connor.

"Because tumbling it has a lot to do with the scores because not many people can tumble, so now more people are getting it and more people are getting it and they just score that really high," said Devin Rogers.

West competes at the Giant Center Friday morning trying to earn a trip into the finals on Saturday.
