DALLAS TOWNSHIP -- Yogis in Luzerne County turned out to Misericordia University Thursday night to raise money for the Catherine McAuley House, a homeless shelter for women and children in Plymouth.
Leadership Wilkes-Barre organized the event. All the money raised will help the group rebuild the outdoor play area for children staying at the home.
The group chose a yoga class to introduce a new activity to folks of all ages.
"It was a different idea. We wanted something to bring the community together and pass on good karma to the McAuley House and we thought it was a really nice way just to get together and offer up some good intentions," said Caleigh Pedriani with Leadership Wilkes-Barre.
Yogis of all experience levels participated in the fundraising event.
