STROUD TOWNSHIP -- The winter storm closed the Stroud Mall in Monroe County.
Normally the mall is busy on a Saturday, but it is shut down because of all the snow.
Empty lots and storefronts are closed on what would normally be a busy Saturday afternoon around the Stroud Mall.
People in Monroe County are taking the warnings to stay off the roads very seriously.
The National Weather Service originally had a winter storm warning for Monroe County and Carbon County. That warning got upgraded to a blizzard warning.
With inches of snow already on the ground and more still falling, road conditions in the Stroudsburg area were barely manageable for drivers trying to get to where they needed to go.
The plow drivers tell us they have their work cut out for them, until the snow storm ends.
Until then, they will continue to do what they can.
