TANNERSVILLE --This upcoming holiday weekend is sure to be a busy one on the slopes, especially with a slow start to the winter season.

The slopes are finally white in Tannersville and Camelback Mountain says it’s creating a frenzy of reservations for the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday weekend.

"There's a lot of excitement in the air now, though. The snow's finally on the ground. Cold weather's been here. We've been making a lot of snow,” said Camelback Mountain marketing manager Drew Jackson.

Camelback Lodge at Aquatopia’s Indoor Waterpark is sold out both Saturday and Sunday, where guests can ski in and out of the resort. It’s the first big holiday weekend people will get to check out this new feature.

"It's great and I think it's good for business because it promotes summer and winter business,” said Derit Lewisch of Doylestown.

We found lots of skiers taking advantage of the Nine Mile Trail that leads right into the Trails End Restaurant.

"You usually have to unstrap and take a little walk, but this is very convenient. I'm looking forward to getting a little hot chocolate,” said Melanie Wood of New Hope.

Anyone staying at Camelback's Aquatopia Resort gets to leave their skis or snowboards at the new ski valet. It's right at the base of the mountain where guests can ski in and out.

One family came all the way from Mexico to enjoy a little time on the slopes and the slides ahead of the busy weekend.

"It is fabulous because we have two vacations in one. We can go skiing in the morning and in the night go into the swimming pools. The kid is loving it,” said Elyas Saad of Mexico.

The rooms may be sold out for the weekend, but there’s plenty of room on the mountain for skiers and snowboarders.

Camelback is still making snow and hopes to have up to 25 trails ready to rock for the holiday weekend.
