It starts with family first for Scranton Knights wrestling coach Jim Morgan. That solid foundation at home and hard work in the wrestling room is paying huge dividends for his program

"It is important because one it keeps them together. If one is there you know where the other one is. Another thing is especially with those two sets of brothers the Burgette's and Evanitsky's they almost push each other. Sometimes when the younger brothers are doing well the older brothers notice that and they want to step up their game as well, " said Jim.

Rui Evanitsky at 145 and Andrew Burgette at 170 are the seniors. The two sophomores are William Evanitsky at 120 and Jacob Burgette at 132.

"It started when Jim went over to Scranton you know Burgette found him and then found us at Northeast, and we started building from 7th grade," said Rui.

"We work all year-long pretty much just keep going and going and going, so practices in the morning and the afternoon and family is pretty big. We always had a lot of brothers coming in and everything," said Andrew.

And what's been coming is wins. Last year Scranton won the school's first team dual title and made that trip to Hershey matter.

"And especially with winning districts last year and getting down to states and winning a match the goal ever since then is to get back there. Get back and try to get further in the tournament," added Jim.

"Great being part of it. There is a lot of competition. There's a lot of intensity in the wrestling room. We all help each other out get better. We all have good kids. It's pretty fun," added Rui.

We'll certainly a statement win for the Knights here in the Lackawanna League Scranton defeats Delaware Valley 54-15. They have a month now to prepare for the team duals coming up in February.
