STROUD TOWNSHIP -- Dozens of families will be able to heat their homes this winter thanks in part to a donation from a car dealership in the Poconos.
Halterman's Toyota in Stroud Township gave the East Stroudsburg Salvation Army a check for $25,000.
That money will be used to help between 80 and 100 families pay heating bills.
"It could not come at a better time. It's like someone flipped the switch on the weather and said it's time to be cold and it is real cold." Major James Gingrich, East Stroudsburg Salvation Army.
The donation is greatly appreciated this year since the Salvation Army has yet to receive its share of state funding because of Pennsylvania's budget impasse.
