LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP -- Business seems to be booming on the Golden Strip in Lycoming County. Over the past few months, a new plaza has popped up and a few restaurants have moved in.

Now, a property owner has plans to add another addition to the business district just outside Williamsport.

With rows of restaurants and stores to choose from, Alana O'Rourke came with her mom from Lewisburg to shop on the Golden Strip just outside Williamsport.

"It's nice having all the stores together. I'd like to see more potentially in this area," said O’Rourke.

This portion of East Third Street in Loyalsock Township has plenty of available space for lease. Real estate broker Megan Pfleegor knows there's room to grow and build.

"The plan is to expand the existing building by another 3,000 square feet. There could also be the potential to do a standalone building as well,” said Pfleegor.

Once home to Swope's furniture and appliance store, the property now has a new name: One Main Plaza.

Now that Swope's is gone and the building has been demolished, the owners of this property who also own the building next door want to hear from potential tenants before they start building.

"We're really trying to go after the more national tenants. As you can see from the influx of the people moving into the area, we seem to have several industries moving in here, whether that be retail, restaurants, you know offices and that sort of thing," said Pfleeger.

"Every time you drive by, I thought it was going to be a bank, you know, and then, so when finally the sign when up, then I found out," said Kim Andrews of Williamsport.

Andrews enjoys watching new projects take shape on the strip.

The owners of a Moe’s Southwest Grill hope to open the restaurant by late spring.

"Any expansion is better than closing doors. It makes everyone feel good about their home," said Andrews.

As for the owners of One Main Plaza, they hope to begin construction this spring.
