HARVEYS LAKE -- Much of the attention on this Christmas Eve is about the weather. It may be December 24, but if feels nothing like it outside.

We shattered the record high for this date with many places in northeastern and central Pennsylvania getting up to 70 degrees or more.

It almost felt like summer on Harveys Lake, and looks like it too, with a boat out on the water.

Jim Quinn and Bill Hules were casting some lines.

"Beautiful, beautiful," said Quinn. I'm ready to take my sweatshirt off, matter of fact."

And while this Christmas Eve is shattering all kinds of records, these two have been fishing during the last few weeks of warm weather.

"We've been fishing all through the winter. So far, we haven't put the boat up yet. We've done a lot of river fishing, came out here a few times," Quinn added.

"The fish don't know what to do though. The water is still too warm," said Hughes. "In other words, we haven't caught anything yet."

Elsewhere on the lake, there were more thoughts of summer. The crew building a dock and boathouse right on the water were thrilled to not even need coats.

"At this time of year, there'd be frost on top, ice you'd be dealing with, the wind issues are bad. This is a bad lake for the cold. To be out here in a t-shirt is just amazing," said Matt Hilleman.

To put things in perspective, July 4th at the lake was about the same temperature as it is on Christmas Eve.

"Everyone's saying, 'this can't be Christmas.'"

Brian Orbin was loving it, on his bike riding laps in the sunshine around the lake, dressed to spread some holiday cheer.

"Everyone loves, they honk and wave to me. It just brings joy to people's faces," Orbin said.

Instead of a winter wonderland, it's still a water wonderland on Christmas Eve.
