STROUD TOWNSHIP -- A teenager in the Poconos is throwing a huge holiday party this weekend for kids like him who have a disability.

A massive Christmas carnival with hundreds of invited guests in Monroe County and it’s all being planned by this teen who has a big heart.

Eryk has been sharing the power of Christmas with other kids like him who have disabilities for three years now.

"We're trying to make it even bigger this year. We already have a lot of RSVPs to come,” said Eryk D’Meza.

Eryk suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy - Type One, a life-threatening condition that constricts his movements.

Over the years, sharing the power of Christmas has grown from a party of about 50 to now nearly 300 kids.

This year Eyrk’s school, Stroudsburg Middle School, is pitching in too.

"The school donated the use of their facility. It just means a lot and it means that everybody is behind Eryk and what he's trying to do,” said Eryk’s mother Erika D’Meza.

Eryk and his family have been collecting donations year round, not just for this party, but to build an activity center for kids with disabilities.

This GoFundMe page is the start to raising thousands of dollars to make that dream possible here in the Poconos. In the meantime Eryk’s family says these Christmas parties have made such a difference.

It's the smile on Eryk's face knowing that he makes new friends. He has so many friends now that are in a wheelchair that he didn't have before. He thought he was on his own and he has so many friends now.

The event will be packed with gifts for the kids, games and of course Christmas spirit. Something that makes it all worthwhile for Eryk.

"It just makes me happy to see them having fun,” said Eryk.

Eryk Shares the Power of Christmas Saturday at Stroudsburg Middle School from noon until 6 p.m. Everyone is invited.
