MOUNTAIN TOP -- This November here in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area is among the top five warmest Novembers on record.

Many in Luzerne County found themselves taking advantage of the 40-degree temperatures on Monday.

At Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club in Mountain Top, the dedicated golfers are still out, even on the last day of November.

"I'm surprised I'm still golfing. Usually I'm done sometime in October before Halloween, so this is great," John Macri of Mountain Top said.

Macri and Lance Lysiak have been golfing all season. They never thought after Thanksgiving break they would still be playing a few rounds of golf.

"I'm actually surprised that it has been a lot warmer than normal, you know, especially this time of year in November after Thanksgiving. It's already about December. It's going to be Christmas in a few weeks and it's still decently nice out," Lance Lysiak said.

Even though temperatures are right around average today, golfers say all of the above average temperatures in November have been great.

After an afternoon of golf, Frank Morgis packed up his SUV to head home. He's grateful the weather has been in his favor this November.

"This time of year normally you can't put a tee in, you have to purposely miss the green because it's usually rock solid and I'm able to tee it up and play like it were September," Morgis said.

Tony Barletta the general manager at the golf course says the warm temperatures on Black Friday alone brought in more than 180 golfers.

"It's just unbelievable. I mean we had a record year overall. That's despite the worst March and April we've ever had we came back the weather has been so great and golf here has been fantastic," Barletta said.

The golf club in Mountain Top says it will keep booking tee times as long as the weather cooperates.
