SCRANTON -- As the sun sets in Nay Aug Park, the cars begin to arrive drawn to the holiday lights that fill the night with color.

From Santa riding a dinosaur to elves dancing across the grass, the park is home to more than 150 glimmering decorations.

There was one family that was one of the first to arrive. They came all the way from Susquehanna and Bradford counties.

Christina Mayancela of Montrose, "When they come here they are like is it Christmas? Is it Christmas? They are excited for Christmas when they come here."

"[What have you seen so far that is like your favorite?] The cookies and stuff with Santa," said Tia Belcher of Monroeton.

For many families, the trip to see the lights has became an annual tradition while the display is free donations are collected that help the park all year long.

While most people see the display from their car or on foot, if you really want the full experience, you can hire a horse carriage.

"It's just beautiful seeing them closer just wonderful being in a horse carriage," said Brittany Knapp from Ames, Iowa.

One family from Iowa decided the carriage would make their Pennsylvania visit even more memorable.

People like Brendan Kerber, who live near the park, share in the excitement by setting up their own dazzling displays. Putting it all together takes weeks of work, but the payoff is priceless.

"Something good for the kids now these days, it's another tradition, another holiday house in the area," said Kerber.

It's a way to share the beauty of the season with everyone who passes by.
