TEXAS TOWNSHIP -- With the Christmas holiday less than a month away, a Toys for Tots program was trying to fill a military vehicle with gifts in Wayne County.
The Toys for Tots program set up shop outside the Walmart near Honesdale collecting new and unwrapped toys for boys and girls.
The event was called "Seven Tons of Fun." With nearly 3,000 children to help every year, organizers say it makes a difference.
"Last year we averaged 4-6 toys per child plus stocking stuffers, board games, arts and crafts, books, so this is a huge help for us," said Shari Tirado.
The event wrapped up around 4 p.m. filling most of the truck in Wayne County.
