CLARKS SUMMIT -- One person was killed in an early morning crash that closed a highway in Lackawanna County.
A tractor-trailer and an SUV wrecked just before 1 a.m. on Friday morning.
According to state police, the SUV slammed into the back of the truck on Interstate 81 north near the Clarks Summit exit.
The passenger -- Carly Otto, 26, of Dalton -- was killed in the crash. The driver -- Brandon Vansplinter of Scott Township -- was injured and taken to the hospital.
Both lanes of Interstate 81 North were shut down for over two hours.
After being treated at the hospital, Vansplinter was arrested on a warrant from a previous incident.
