SCRANTON -- Keeping warm this winter was the goal behind a coat drive in Scranton.

City firefighters handed out coats to children at Bancroft Elementary Tuesday morning.

It's all part of a program called "Operation Warm." In all, more than 400 winter coats will be distributed.

"We had such a positive response from the kids that we said we absolutely had to make it a point to do it this year. And the community support has been overwhelming. We far exceeded our goal. And it will help so many more kids," said Andy Polansky, with the Scranton Fire Department.

Students at Prescott Elementary in Scranton will also receive winter jackets.

This is the second year the Scranton Fire Department organized the coat drive.
