KINGSTON -- A couple from Luzerne County were in Paris during those terrorist attacks on Friday.

They said they really didn't understand the scope of just how scary the situation was until they got back home.

Ron and Beth Mrochko had been looking forward their trip to Paris for more than a year. Everything from the tours to the shows was planned down to the finest detail.

But on Friday night, their tour guide told the couple that Paris was under attack.

The Mrochkos share some pictures of their recent vow renewal in Paris. The couple from Kingston planned it out. They wanted to take pictures in front of the Eiffel tower all lit up.

A picture taken last Thursday shows a much different scene than how it looked 24 hours later.

"Hundreds of police cars, sirens, motorcycle cops going every which direction," Ron Mrochko recalled.

The Mrochkos were at show at Moulin Rouge during the terrorist attacks just a few blocks away.

It was their tour guide who broke the news and they were escorted back to their hotel.

Beth later found out officials came to check Moulin Rouge for potential bombs.

"While our show was preforming, there were policemen and military going through the theater and we didn't know."

The couple traveled with some family but their group split up the night of the attacks. Some of them originally planned to go to an event that ended up being a target.

"My nephews are big soccer fans and they were trying to get tickets to go to the soccer game, but it was sold out."

When the couple got back to their hotel they started to watch the coverage of the attacks, but Beth says she didn't fully grasp how close her family was to danger until she got back to her home in Luzerne County.

"I should have felt more scared than I did. You didn't realize what could have happened. Then in your mind you lay there and think, 'what could have happened if I was in that situation? Where would I go?' Because we didn't know where we were."

The Mrochkos flew back to Pennsylvania the day after the attacks which was their scheduled day to come home.

They say the security was intense at the airport in France but they appreciated that.

The Mrochkos said they would absolutely go back to Paris.
