HARRISBURG -- Plenty of activity involving embattled Attorney General Kathleen Kane, in both Harrisburg and Montgomery County Tuesday.

The Scranton native is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on perjury charges in Montgomery County. It's alleged Kane lied when she said she never agreed to secrecy regarding a grand jury investigation.

On Monday in Harrisburg, a bi-partisan senate panel started its work, looking at whether Kane can still function as attorney general, without her law license.

The state supreme court suspended Kane's law license in October.

Three district attorneys, two democrats and a republican testified they need a law license to do their jobs properly.

Among those at the hearing was District Attorney David Heckler from Bucks County.

"Everything we do in our office involves being lawyers," said Heckler.

Kane maintains most of her duties are administrative, and she can still work as Attorney General, even without a law license.

The senate panel should have its question answered by the end of November.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 pm on Tuesday. Newswatch 16 will have a crew on scene to give you the latest updates.
