LAKE WINOLA -- ATMs and cash registers were among the items stolen from three businesses in Wyoming County.
The break-ins happened overnight, at places within a short distance of each other and the owners of those businesses believe it’s the same three burglars committing these crime.
And at two of those locations, the thieves were caught on camera.
Surveillance video captured some brazen bandits after they broke into the Lakeside Pizza and Hoagie Shop in Lake Winola around 4 a.m. Monday.
Owner Judy Lewonczyk got to work around 8 a.m., only to find a front window busted out, the patio door damaged from being opened with a crow bar, and the cash register gone.
But what was the most shocking was seeing the empty space where the ATM once stood.
“Our cash register was taken, our cash box was taken, and the ATM was ripped right out of the floor,” said Lewonczyk. “I don`t know how they carried it. It was a big ATM machine.”
But Judy's restaurant wasn't the only one hit.
Overnight, it's believed the same three burglars were also caught on camera at Marty's Market in the same shopping plaza. Once again, the ATM was taken.
“It looks like they came in through our side window and they came right out here to the ATM and they actually took it right out the window somehow. They fit it right out,” said manager Mark Yuhas.
Just a few miles away, Deleo's Bar was also ransacked and again, the ATM was taken.
The thieves also took cash from the cash box and used the bar's garbage can to haul away a lot of liquor.
“They were here awhile. They took my garbage can and they loaded all the booze up in that,” said owner Jeff Hull. “That top shelf was full. The whole kitchen was full of booze.”
For Lakeside Pizza and Deleo's, they're losing a day's worth of business, being unable to open. And all three places will now have to pay for what was damaged during the break-ins.
“We work hard every single day. We're here 12 hours days, me and my children, my niece, my nephew. It's disheartening,” said Lewonczyk.
State police in Wyoming County are investigating these burglaries.
