Scranton's reputation as a "Runner's City" was strengthened Saturday as the winner of the women's marathon in Baltimore is a native of the electric city.

Caitlin Gaughan, 29 of Scranton, crossed the finish line near Camden Yards in Baltimore Saturday morning.

She was the top female finisher for the 26.2 mile race with a time of 2 hours and 58 minutes.

This is Gaughan's first marathon win. She says her practice terrain prepared her for Baltimore's hills.

"One benefit of living in Scranton is no matter where you leave your house you're going uphill or you're going downhill and you have to come back up," said Gaughan.

This is Gaughan's tenth marathon. She says she has run the Steamtown Marathon several times.
