It's apple season and The Country Cupboard in Lewisburg prepares the most amazing Apple Dumplings. See how they are baked to perfection.
Recipe from Country Cupboard:
Crust:
1 1/4 c. water
1/8 c. oil
1 1/4 c. shortening
4 c. pastry flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Mix everything together in a mixing bowl until combined.
Cinnamon sugar mixture:
1 1/2c. Sugar
3 Tbsp. Cinnamon
Mix everything together in bowl.
Peel and core apples. Place 1 apple in middle of circle of dough. Place 1/8c. of cinnamon sugar in the middle of apple, 1 Tbsp. of butter on top. Fold the dough over to seal. Sprinkle sugar on top of your dumplings and bake for 30- 35 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Stick with a knife to make sure apples are done well. Enjoy!
