SCRANTON — A nun from Scranton, known for helping the poor and less fortunate, was laid to rest Thursday.
The funeral for Sister Adrian Barrett took place at St. Paul’s Church along Penn Avenue in Scranton.
Sister Adrian founded Friends of the Poor almost 30 years ago. The charity is perhaps best known for its Thanksgiving dinner held at the Scranton Cultural Center each year.
Sister Adrian Barrett died Monday. She was 86 years old.
