COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP -- Those who work directly with abuse victims were at a training event in the Poconos on Thursday.
The director of a program that helps prisoners return to society was the speaker at the event hosted by Tobyhanna Army Depot.
Its behavioral health program and family advocacy center hosted this for a variety of agencies.
The training program, titled "Communications and Forgiveness," went over a variety of sensitive topics.
"Examining techniques and skills that we can all utilize to help us enhance what we already use and have might be a preventative measure as a means of lessening violence in this world, that’s what we hope," said Tobyhanna Army Depot Mental Health Practitioner Heather Fiedler.
