BLOOMSBURG -- One night after a rain storm, folks were out enjoying the Bloomsburg Fair and all it has to offer.

That soggy weather kept many away Tuesday night. Some vendors said the downpours made things tough as they hurried to secure their products and food, some putting tarps around their tents and stands. They were glad for the drier weather.

"You know it's the first time it's rained since I've been coming in two years. It's a little windy and a little cooler but it's not raining. So as long as it doesn't rain, I think people will come out and support the fair,” said Scott Heeter, of Heeter’s Ice Cream Truck.

The drier weather did come with a pretty significant drop in temperature and folks young and old were bundled up against the chilly air.

"The reality is you know, I don't mind wearing a sweatshirt, especially when we're coming down here to enjoy the things that are here at the fair,” said Dan Malloy of Hanover Township, Luzerne County.

Cherie McKay is a first-time vendor at the fair. She’s from Alaska and pretty happy with the cooler weather. After all, she sells hats, blankets and more.

"Slippers have been doing good. Hats have been doing good, a little bit of blankets, but because things have cooled down, I'm thinking the next couple of days the blankets will be doing good."

Most folks say they do not mind the cooler weather. After all, they say the Bloomsburg Fair is a fall fair.

"The cooler it gets, the better. It just seems like the fair. When I was a kid growing up, it just seemed like it was cooler,” said Susan Clark of Bloomsburg.

"This is my time of the year. I enjoy the fall weather, definitely the cooler temperatures and the food always tastes better at the fair when it's cooler,” said Rick Clark of Bloomsburg.
