CARBONDALE -- Police took away an alleged armed robber that they had been hunting for all night in parts of Wayne and Lackawanna Counties.

Shocking security video shows a store manager using all of her weight to try to keep an armed robber from getting away.

Police say that's what happened when a knife toting Dennis Sullivan tried to rob the Dollar General in Simpson on Thursday. That manager did everything she could.

Investigators say Sullivan managed to escape her grasp by threatening her with his weapon.

When asked if he regrets what happened, Sullivan simply replied, "yup - very much."

A day later, they add Sullivan robbed the "Drive and By" Convenient Store in Carbondale where he barely got away.

Police in Carbondale say when Sullivan was robbing that Drive and By, they were nearby investigating a different case. They think he saw the cops, left behind the getaway vehicle and took off on foot.

With the law on his tail and no wheels, detectives say Sullivan met up with Kevin Hunt and teamed up to swipe a pickup from a lot in Simpson.

Through a foggy morning and into the day, state and local police searched for him in two counties.

Cell phone video shows troopers on the Casey Highway, but it was the folks at a tavern in Fell Township who made the capture.

Police say they had been searching for Sullivan all night, when he walked into Frank's Place and asked to use the phone.

Frank Cerminaro, bar owner said, "He [Sullivan] said his car broke down and called his dad."

Frank thought Sullivan seemed fishy and got on the horn with the cops.

He added, "They said you are probably going to be robbed. So, that's his M.O., go in a place, he wasn't armed or anything, that's the bright side."

Frank's son Lucca, who's 12 years old, was there the whole time.

"My father pinned him to the ground," said Lucca.

Frank said, "He's very antsy, and I said 'buddy you just have to stay here for a little bit'."

"We restrained him, sat him down on the bar stool. We told him not to move," said Matt Colachino, cook at Frank's Place. "He tried running through the back door. I took him down and about 12 cop cars showed up."

Sullivan did get a ride. Officers swarmed the scene and took him away.

Immediately, authorities only expect to charge Sullivan with a third armed robbery that happened on Labor Day at the Turkey Hill in Carbondale.

Police in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties say additional charges are on the way for Sullivan, including the two other robberies caught on camera.
