WEST PENN TOWNSHIP -- Police cruisers in part of Schuylkill County will be equipped with new cameras in a few weeks.
A supervisor in West Penn Township tells us the new cameras will turn on whenever the lights and sirens are switched on. Officers will also have a remote on them at all times that can set the camera to record.
Officials tell us the new cameras are in response to what happened to West Penn Township Officer Melissa Ruch. She says she was assaulted on the job earlier this month.
