SELINSGROVE -- A dedicated volunteer at a senior living community in Snyder County is marking a big milestone.
To celebrate, residents of Brookdale Grayson View in Selinsgrove threw a party. Ice cream and cupcakes with Scooby snacks were served in honor of Georgie, a 4-year-old golden retriever.
He has made 500 visits to the home.
The therapy dog, along with his owner Jim Smith, stops by every week to spend time with residents.
"He can brighten someone's day who is having a bad day. He either visits with residents here in the lobby or in the common areas," said resident programs coordinator Tara Bassler.
Georgie brought his sister Sadie to the party. She is also a therapy dog.
Their owners were also given a present to thank them for their service to residents in Snyder County.
