ARCHBALD -- People at a trailer park in Archbald say living conditions there certainly haven't been good for a while, but spending the last three days without water has been the worst.

"It was heartbreaking when I got home and we had no water yesterday. This baby had to wait until I got home to get water to her," said Jeannette McCrillis who lives in Valley View Estates.

With concerns that Children and Youth Services might step  and uncertainty over exactly when water would be turned back on, a handful of people who live at Valley View Estates waited in front of the Lackawanna County Courthouse Thursday morning.

They hoped the Archbald borough solicitor would give them some answers.

The borough's solicitor went to court to ask a judge to force the owner of Valley View Estates to pay the past due water bill.

The owner told us he felt the pressure, so while the solicitor was in court. The owner was on the phone with the water company working out a payment plan. That got the water back on.

Many people living there say they needed the water turned back on, but fear it may have been pointless. Notices show, in just a few weeks they're in danger of losing their homes because of back taxes.

"There's still a lot to do with these back taxes on these trailers. We might still lose our homes, but I am hoping we can fight this and everybody can stick together," said Joseph Marshall.

Tens of thousands of dollars in back taxes are due the September 28 or the trailers there will go  up for sheriff's sale.

Residents like Joseph Marshal say they're overwhelmed with all that needs to be done.

"I'm hoping Egan straightens this park out, tear these trailers down, pave the roads. They have to do something," said Marshal.
