CENTRE TOWNSHIP -- A contractor working on a silo fell to his death today at a farm in Snyder County.
Soon after it happened neighbors rushed to offer support and comfort to the family who owns the property near Middleburg.

The Snyder County coroner says 32-year-old Moses Kanagy of Juniata County was standing on scaffolding when it apparently gave out.
The family of the farm owners said Kanagy was plastering inside a silo when the accident happened.

Troopers were called to Bowersox Road where a construction crew was helping build a dairy barn .

According to state police, 32-year-old Moses Kanagy was inside the silo standing on scaffolding about 70 feet in the air when the  scaffolding gave out.

Kanagy fell to the ground and was killed.

"Just here working you know trying to make a living like everybody else is and an accident happened. It's a tragedy," said Bill Woodling of Centre Township.

The family of the farm owners told Newswatch 16 Kanagy worked for a contractor who's  helping construct their new dairy farm.
Neighbors expressed their concern for the family.

"We plan on going down and visiting with them later on and offer our sympathy and anything we can do for them."

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration stopped by the farm today. The federal agency is  investigating the silo death in Snyder county.
