POTTSVILLE -- The Schuylkill County coroner says a preliminary autopsy shows that John Brock, 59, of Pottsville was stabbed.

On Friday, police were back where Brock's body was found continuing their investigation.

Pottsville police and state police were back on South 12th Street collecting evidence in that homicide investigation.

People who live nearby say that victim John Brock kept to himself.

Just three years ago, Newswatch 16 interviewed Brock when he opened up Pottsville Bike and Board on West Market Street.

That shop closed last year.

Police say Brock was living at this home on South 12th Street. This house is now the scene of the crime.

Officials say Brock was found outside his home with stab wounds.

So far, police have not named any suspects.

People who live nearby call the case unnerving.

"It's scary because you don't have this going on every day. It's a quiet neighborhood and it just seems unreal that this happened," said Cheryl Haas.

But Brock's death is not the only homicide Pottsville police are investigating.

In March, police were at a home on West Norwegian Street, just a few blocks away, investigating the death of Dat Cong Huynh of Philadelphia.

That case is still unsolved.

Neighbors say they hear of a new crime in the area almost every day.

"Drugs, shootings, fights."

For people who live on West Norwegian Street, this is the second homicide this year near where they live. They say even though they've seen the yellow tape before, it still makes them feel uneasy.

"It's not the same place as when we moved in. I'm not scared or anything, but it's not the same," said Amy Belkhoutout.

The Schuylkill County coroner says that an autopsy will be done Friday night on John Brock to figure out the exact cause of death.
