DUNMORE -- More than 1,000 lanterns were launched into sky in Dunmore to honor the lives of two women who died at a young age.

The launch remembered Kelcey Hallinan and Carissa Darrt, both of Dunmore.

Hallinan died in 2013 after a long battle with cancer.

Darrt died in 2002 after an accidental fatal fall.

The lanterns were sold around businesses in Dunmore.

Proceeds from the launch will support both the Kelcey Strong Scholarship and the Carissa Darrt Foundation.
