WILKES-BARRE -- State Attorney General Kathleen Kane will have to go in front of a magistrate in Montgomery County to answer to criminal charges announced Thursday. Kane is expected to do that Saturday, but she will do it by video while detectives take her mug shot and her fingerprints.

Governor Tom Wolf said "no" during an appearance in Monroe County Thursday only hours after criminal charges against Kane were announced. He called on Kane to resign.
State Auditor General Eugene DePasquale also called for Kane to step down. Several state lawmakers followed suit.
Now, the former Chief Justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court is calling for something more drastic.
Former Justice Ronald Castille told reporters in Harrisburg that the court could revoke Kane's law license, forcing her out of office. He also said the legislature could move to impeach Kane.
Castille was named in Kane's indictment.
Prosecutors said Kane ordered a staff member to search emails sent to Castille and others about a grand jury investigating Kane.
Kane is charged with perjury, obstruction of justice, and abuse of office.
Fellow Scranton native, Senator Bob Casey spent part of his morning at Wilkes University. He did not take a firm stance on whether Kane should resign. But, Senator Casey did say Kane's indictment is a scenario becoming all to familiar for Pennsylvanians.
"We've had unfortunately too many of these. We had a U.S. Congressman for Philadelphia charged recently, not too long before that the State Treasurer McCord. So, the more incidents or the more examples you have, it does undermine confidence," Senator Casey said.
Attorney General Kathleen Kane has maintained her innocence and refused to step down. Newswatch 16 visited her home in Waverly Township Friday and her office in downtown Scranton, and Kane was not there. She is expected to be in Montgomery County Saturday for her arraignment.
