LONG POND -- NASCAR fans flocked to the track at Pocono Raceway for the Windows 10 400. For Jeff Gordon fans, Sunday's race was the 24 car driver’s last time at the Tricky Triangle.

The long-time NASCAR driver is calling it quits at the end of this season and retiring after more than 20 years of racing. Many fans made the trip to the Pocono track to see Gordon just one last time.

Jeff Gordon fans filled the stands at Pocono Raceway. It’s a race these fans said they just wouldn’t miss

"Because it's Gordon's last race here, so we had to be here for this,” said Matt Cuccaro of Jim Thorpe.

Cuccaro and his son Sean picked up some last-minute Gordon gear before watching their favorite NASCAR driver, who’s raced 40 times here at Pocono and finished in the top five 18 times before this race.

"When we picked up the tickets, I got excited just knowing that I'm going to be able to come here. Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get tickets. As soon as they were in my hand I had a smile on my face,” said Cuccaro.

For Gordon’s final race at Pocono, his name was placed on the checkered line and "24s" for the 24 car filled the leader board.

One fan from New Jersey said he first became a Gordon fan in the early 1990s.

"I just liked the car in the beginning and I followed it, stayed with the driver, and that's been for quite a while now, more than 20 years,” said Anthony Lee of New Jersey.

Pocono Raceway set up a tribute for driver Jeff Gordon in the infield for his final race at this track and so did lots of his fans.

Chris Madsen says he’s one of Gordon’s biggest supporters and has the gear to prove it – a coffee maker, salt shakers, quilts, and of course, a Gordon chair on the roof of his camper.

"He's had a great career and it's been fun watching him. I've never rooted for anybody else. My dog is named Gordie after him, I mean, the whole nine yards,” said Madsen.

Fans say the Tricky Triangle won’t be the same without this six-time Pocono winner, and hope to see him in Victory Lane just one final time.

"A win would be perfect,” said Lee.

Gordon Started in the number 10 spot for Sunday's race and he finished in third place at the Windows 10 400.
