WILLIAMSPORT -- A housing complex in Lycoming County was filled with police activity all day for what investigators are calling a suspicious death.

A specialized forensic team was called in to help.

Neighbors watched as a forensics team searched through garbage bags in front of a home in Williamsport Tuesday afternoon.

The Lycoming County coroner's office left a housing complex on Sherman Street in Williamsport shortly before 5 p.m. taking dozens of garbage bags with them. Police had been there all day investigating what they're calling a suspicious death.

Neighbors stood behind the yellow tape while investigators snapped photos outside Michael Ross Homes on Sherman Street in Williamsport.

"I look and I see all this police tape everywhere and I'm like, 'Oh, my God!' "

Police say they are investigating a suspicious death at the low-income housing development. They taped off most of the complex but focused on 1630.

Neighbors say a man lives at the home but mostly stays to himself.

"I never really seen him outside of Ross so, I mean, he wasn't really a friendly type of person, I guess," said one neighbor.

By mid-day, a forensics team from Mercyhurst University had arrived.

Investigators covered their mouths with masks.

"Oh, I can smell it again. It's awful."

Vicki Page lives nearby and watched as the forensic team looked through garbage cans in front of 1630.

"I have no idea what's going on right now. I think I'm still in shock," Page said.

"I think this is giving Williamsport a real bad name and it's not helping at all."

Mercyhurst University is located in Erie, Pennsylvania and is known for its forensics anthropology program.

Police in Williamsport say people are being questioned in connection with the death investigation.
